How do you like your FiSt? I am seriously considering one for my next daily driver. My heart want to spend twice as much money but my brain says maybe something more reasonably priced. It seems like all of the autojournos love the car.

It’s a very specific car. It’s either for you, or it isn’t. If you like a fun car, that makes even a short commute fun, then it could be for you. If you want something cushy and fancy, look somewhere else. Personally, I love it, but I’m fully aware that it’s not for everyone. If you have any specific questions, ask away.

It ticks a lot of boxes for me. I need a back seat that fits two elementary school kids, has a manual, and is fun to drive. Half of my commute is a twisty back road so the fist seems ideal. I am not necessarily into luxury cars although I would probably spring for the Recaro’s.

The other cars high on my list are the STI and the RS.

Honestly, I wouldn’t trust the RS in the long run, nor the STI. The RS is already suffering diff/trans issues, and the STI always has suffered from engine ailments. The kids should fit fine, I’ve had 5 adults in the car. It’s plenty practical for it’s size.

Yeah from what I understand the RS could use a rear diff cooler if you will be driving it hard for an extended period of time. While I think the STI engine issues, like the infamous ringland failures, I think it is probably over blown, it is an “old” engine though... Plus I am the type of person that wouldn't want a regular WRX.

Really for me it comes down to those are both $35k to $40k cars and while I can spend that much, if I can get 90% of the fun at half the price in the FiSt, that seems like the smart thing to do.
